Acorn Lawyers team sleep out for a 5th year for St Vinnies CEO Sleepout Wollongong

On Thursday 20th June, nine members of the Acorn Lawyers team will brave a wintery night and sleep homeless as part of the St Vincent de Pauls Society CEO Sleepout. Simone Goodwin, Renae Mossmon, Rachael Watson, Monique Sayer, Skye Downing, Mia Dowie, Chelsea Jones-Morley, Anita Pallas and Kane Baker make up one of the largest teams ever to participate in the Wollongong sleepout.

Our aim is to raise awareness and as much money as possible to make a tangible difference to communities across the region by fostering awareness of the issue and raise funds for St Vincent de Paul Society’s frontline meal, accommodation and support services which runs locally in the Illawarra.

The face of homelessness is changing and now sadly encompasses an increasing number of women, families and children. 44% of those experiencing homelessness are women, and more than 17,000 children in Australia under the age of 12 do not have a stable place to call home.

If, like us, you agree that these staggering figures are simply not acceptable, you can help make a difference.
