Justin Conomy


Justin joined Acorn Lawyers as Director of Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution in 2018.Justin graduated from University of Sydney in 1996, completing a Diploma of Law. Shortly after qualifying in law, Justin commenced practice as a barrister at the Sydney Bar, where he worked for 15 years. In 2012 he recommenced practice as a litigation solicitor. As a solicitor, Justin was principal of his own firm, as well as a consultant or special counsel to 3 Sydney Law Firms.

Justin is a family man with a keen interest in fitness and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.


  Experience

Justin is experienced at running cases at hearings and appearing at mediations. His contacts developed with members of the bar makes him well placed to act for clients who want a solicitor who can prepare and run a matter to mediation or final hearing.

Justin has advised and appeared as an advocate in a wide range of contested matters in jurisdictions ranging from the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia (formerly the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia), the Family Court of Australia, and the High Court of Australia, as well as state Tribunals such as the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (formerly the Administrative Decisions Tribunal) and the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal. He has also appeared before the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority.
